PHYSIOTHERAPY
Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession concerned with human function and movement and maximising potential. It is treatment by physical means.
It is an offence for someone to use the title and practise in this country unless they are registered with the Health Professions Council. I am registered with the HPC and am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy which is the professional organisation responsible for the training of physiotherapists in this country and regulation of standards.
The Health Professions Council holds a register of all allied professions to medicine such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and many others. In order to practise, I am legally required to register with them and I have an obligation to maintain my professional standards. The HPC and CSP have a high code of practice which I have to adhere to.
I specialise in holistic physiotherapy whereby I treat the whole body, not just the problem area. It is a very balanced complete treatment. I also use a computer programme called ‘PhysioTools’, which I use to prepare personalised hand-outs of appropriate exercises as needed.
